Onyx Spirits Company is collaborating once again with Bristol’s own “gastro pub,” Barley Vine, to present an Onyx Moonshine Tasting Dinner on Tuesday Nov. 11.
The evening will be attended by Onyx Moonshine co-founders Adam von Gootkin and Peter Kowalczyk, who will engage guests with the history of moonshine in Connecticut and a discussion of how Onyx Moonshine is made.
A four-course meal has been created by Chef David Pianka that includes twists on classic dishes such as Caesar Salad with chicken-fried guinea hen and milk-braised pork loin, as well as autumn favorites like pumpkin cheesecake. Each course is paired with a custom Onyx Moonshine cocktail created by renowned Connecticut mixologist, Khalid Williams.
“The concept of this pairing was inspired by the rich and storied history of Onyx Moonshine,” said Barley Vine mixologist Khalid Williams in a press release for the event. “It is an homage to the Roaring 20s and an exploration of modernist craft techniques,” he added.
The Onyx Moonshine Tasting Dinner is $65 per person and includes tax and tip. Tickets can be purchased by visiting Barley Vine at 182 Main St. in Bristol, Connecticut or calling (860) 589-0239.
