The Bristol History Room, which houses the local history collection of the Bristol Public Library, will be open on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The room has books about Bristol, pictures and postcards, maps, diaries, church and assessor’s records, newspapers on microfilm, cemetery, birth, death and marriage indexes, city directories, and yearbooks. There are nearly a hundred historic images of Bristol on permanent display in the local history room, along with Bristol-made clocks and temporary exhibits of Lake Compounce pictures and objects manufactured at the American Silver Company.
The first 20 people to enter the room on Saturday will each receive a Michael’s Jewelers Christmas ornament with a 24kt. gold finish, which was created for the Bristol Public Library’s centennial.
