This summer, girls at Camp Carlson can learn horseback riding and care while participating in traditional activities that summer camp as to offer.
With the program, “Horse Fun”, girls will spend half of their day learning horse care and riding skills at a local equestrian facility, then come back to Camp Carlson for fun, traditional camp activities. This program is for girls entering grades fourth through eighth. Other activities include daily swimming lessons and girls entering grades four or higher can try archery.
Camp Carlson, a day camp for all girls K-12 is located in Bristol. Operated by Girl Scouts of Connecticut, Camp Carlson is proud to be licensed by the State of Connecticut and accredited by the American Camping Association which shows a commitment to offering high quality programs, meeting safety standards, and following the best business practices.
Summer camp helps boost girls’ self-esteem and confidence, thus improving their social skills and establishing a greater sense of independence. During their summer at Camp Carlson, girls can develop leadership qualities, learn outdoor skills, swimming in our pools and more! Younger girls begin by leading songs and playing games. Girls in grades nine through 12 can participate in a number of leadership programs.
At Camp Carlson, each member of the summer camp staff has been carefully screened and chosen for their skills and experience. All staff receives more than 30 hours of training in child development, teambuilding, safety, and risk management.
