Bristol police say there appears to be no validity to the phone call threats made today at Bristol Central High School and South Side School today.

According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, the threat received at Bristol Central was in reference to a person with a gun on school grounds, while the threat at South Side was in reference to a bomb at the school. Both schools were secured and searched by police, with nothing found, the release said.

At 12:30 p.m. today a threatening call was received at Bristol Central and South Side School. Patrol officers responded to both schools and took safety measures to ensure there was no immediate danger to any students, the release said. School administrators decided to have an early dismissal at both schools as a precaution, the release said. All after school activities for Bristol Public Schools are cancelled today.

Meanwhile, other phone call threats were reported today at Stamford and West Haven High Schools, which other police agencies are currently investigating. The Bristol Police Department reported in the release that it is working with those agencies to determine if the threats are related.
