On April 30, in Windsor, the Davies family will participate in the LifeChoice Donor Services Blue & Green Walk and 5K to celebrate the gift of life.
Jammy and Maurice Davies of Bristol, Conn., along with their family and friends, will walk in memory of their daughter, Chelsea Marie Davies, who died unexpectedly in December 2012 and saved lives as a donor.
Chelsea was registered a donor through the Department of Motor Vehicles and her parents were inspired to register after she helped so many people.
Maurice and Jammy recently had the opportunity to meet Patrick, the recipient of Chelsea’s liver. Organ donation not only affects the donor and recipient, but also the families and loved ones connected to them. The Davies family is a wonderful example of how donation can impact the lives of so many.
The LifeChoice Donor Services Blue & Green Walk and 5K will be held on Saturday April 30 on Griffin Road North in Windsor.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the walk and 5K will begin at 10 a.m. Participants can walk or run to honor donors and recipients, and celebrate the importance of organ, tissue, and eye donation.
