The City of Bristol has partnered with Budderfly LLC of Shelton to initiate a progressive technology based energy management program for City Hall. The system will provide top to bottom building energy use information to help the city understand where and when energy is being used by installing submeters within the facility at 111 North Main St. Building and major subsystem data will identify usage patterns that will help city staff to identify operational improvements and reduce utility “demand charges.”
The project also will include the installation of lighting and plug-load control devices in coordination with ongoing office renovations. These devices will provide end user data that will be helpful to engage the staff in the energy conservation process, which will in turn save tax payer dollars.
