A new young professionals and entrepreneurs group has formed under the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce called PYVOT (Professional Young Visionaries of Tomorrow), with the group looking to officially launch May 19 with a public event.
“Several chambers in the state support young professional groups in their region, but Central
Connecticut did not have one,” said Cindy Scoville, president and CEO of the Central Connecticut
Chambers, in a press release. “We felt there was strong demand so when we put feelers out we saw the interest and lots of impressive young people coming forward to make PYVOT happen.”
From dozens of interested young professionals, 13 individuals from all walks have joined to form the first ever PYVOT cabinet (board). The cabinet is made up of individuals from various businesses, as well as community leaders and entrepreneurs eager to create and execute a strategic vision to energize, empower, and grow the young professional base in the region, said the release.
The cabinet first solidified in February, and has been meeting frequently ever since to organize the group’s structure and plans. With initiatives far enough along, an official PYVOT kickoff event has been scheduled to take place at Cugino’s Restaurant in Farmington on Thursday, May 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event, sponsored by Beauty Entourage, is free and PYVOT encourages anyone in the public interested in attending to come.
The launch event will feature an introduction by cabinet members, free appetizers, and a night of speed networking followed by a casual pace to enjoy company and a cash bar.
