Beginning Wednesday, May 11, public access to City Hall at 111 North Main St. will be limited to the south entrance on Laurel Street and the north entrance, which faces the Municipal Police/Court complex, a press release from the mayor’s office announced.
Public access into or out of the building from the parking area in the rear of the building (west entrance) or from the third level of the parking garage will no longer be available, said the press release.
Doors will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday but will remain open later while public meetings are in session.
This change has been implemented in order to strengthen security at City Hall for employees and the public, said the release.
