The City of Bristol is replacing a section of sanitary sewer on Frederick Street located between Andrews Street and Coppermine Brook.

Work is scheduled to start Aug. 18 and is expected to take 45 days to complete. The purpose of the project is to increase the capacity of the existing sanitary sewer.

Work will consist of saw cutting the existing roadway pavement, excavation, replacement of the main line sanitary sewer and repair of the disturbed roadway. The roadway will remain open to one way traffic during the majority of the construction period and will be open to two way traffic during non-working hours each day and during the weekends. The road will be closed for a short time towards the end of the project while work is being performed at the Frederick Street / Andrews Street intersection.

The disturbed section of roadway will be patched as part of the project and will be reconstructed / resurfaced in the spring of 2017 similar to the West Washington end of Frederick Street.

The city apologizes in advance for any inconvenience the project may cause, said a news release from the city, and encourages residents to contact Raymond Rogozinski in the City Engineering Division at (860)584-6113 with any questions or concerns.
