Jim “Diamond Jim” Ogonowski, 71, of Bristol, husband of Caryl (Ohanesian) Ogonowski and widower of Sharon (McNelly) Ogonowski, passed away on Thursday (November 10, 2016) at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington. Jim was born in Hartford on March 27, 1945 and was a son of the late John and Charlotte (Muszynski) Ogonowski. Jim was a lifelong Bristol resident and owned and operated Diamond Jim’s Auto Detailing for the past 49 years. He enjoyed golfing, spending time outdoors and was an avid fan of the UConn Huskies Basketball and the Philadelphia Eagles. Jim and Caryl enjoyed bike riding and holding hands while they walked the beaches in Cape Cod. Jim and his wife Caryl enjoyed the excitement and love of hosting every holiday at their home. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law: James and his fiancé Stacy, Jason and wife Jennifer and Scott and his fiancé Julie; three brothers: Ronnie and wife Kathy, Jack and sister-in-law Bonnie and Billy and wife Debbie, two sisters: Barbara and husband Billy Fellin and Joyce and late husband Bob Forcier, two grandchildren: Georgia and Brianna along with several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Sunday (November 13, 2016) between 3 and 6 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
