Bristol Eastern High School and Bristol Central High School met at Muzzy Field on Thanksgiving Day for the annual face-off between the crosstown rivals.

To recognize his efforts through the years, Choiniere was given the honor of making the coin toss to open the game. He also was presented with a proclamation by local state legislators acknowledging his eight decades involved with city football. At last Thursday’s ‘Battle for the Bell’ football game between Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern high schools, Mayor Ken Cockayne, center, posed with the local pageant queens.
