Marjorie Elder (Pierce) Herold, 90, of Bristol, widow of Russell L. Herold whom she married on October 18, 1947, died on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Bristol Hospital. Marjorie was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Agnes N. (Elder) Pierce. She was educated in Bristol Schools and graduated from Bristol High School with the Class of 1944. Her main interest was family and home, and she had a keen interest in history and genealogy. She was a member of the Bristol Genealogy Society, Connecticut Society of Genealogists and the New England Historic and Genealogic Society as well as other Libraries. Marjorie and Russell lived in Bristol all their lives and were lifelong members of the Prospect United Methodist Church, Bristol. She was a member and volunteer of the American Clock and Watch Museum, and was a charter and life member of the Bristol Historical Society. Marjorie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell L. and Holly Herold of Gulfport, FL, and Scott L. Herold and Lynn Grenier of Southington; she leaves a very special, beautiful and caring daughter, Heidi H. Flower of Plymouth; her special grandchildren, Lt. Christian P. Herold, USCG (ret.), Matthew W. Herold and wife, Lacy, Emily R. Flower and husband, Eric Pomeroy, Eleanor Riker and husband, Jay,, and Marissa Armentano; eight great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Zachary Herold, Denali and Rayne Herold, Rose and Owen Pomeroy, and Harrison and Nolan Riker; two wonderful brothers, Russell E. Pierce and Donald R. Pierce; her loving sister, Mary E. Drzewiecki; and an agnate of nieces and nephews, including Sara Westervelt; and dear friend, Sharon Zadnick. In addition to her husband and parents, Marjorie was predeceased by two brothers, Howard “Eddy” Pierce, Jr. and Clarence “Bill” Pierce and a sister, Dorothy Damiano. Funeral services will be celebrated at the Prospect United Methodist Church on Thursday (December 15, 2016) at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Bristol.
