Darryl Alton Oakes, 52, of Bristol, passed on Thursday (Dec. 31, 2015). Darryl was born in Bristol on November 4, 1963 to Alton and Allison (Clark) Oakes. Darryl spent his career working as the lead tech at Yarde Metals and working as a machinist. When he wasn’t working he loved riding his motorcycle. In addition to his parents, Darryl is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law: Travis and Chelsey Oakes, of Terryville, Dylan Oakes, of Bristol; sister and brother-in-law: Carol and Mike Cassidy, Southington; grandson: Noah A. Oakes; and two nieces: Jade and Skyler. Darryl was pre-deceased by his sister: Karen Oakes. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Funk Funeral Home; 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010 on Tuesday (Jan. 5, 2016) between 6 and 8PM. Funeral services for Darryl will be celebrated at Funk Funeral Home on Wednesday (Jan. 6, 2016) at 1PM. Burial will follow with a procession to Peacedale Cemetery.
