Arrest made in investigation into scams against elderly

Police arrested a man accused of scamming the local elderly.
Bristol police said that on Monday, July 7, patrol officers arrested Brian Curylo, 28, for several charges regarding home improvement violations.
Police said officers were dispatched on a report that Curylo was working in a driveway on Geary Avenue. Police said Curylo had been the focus of a police investigation several weeks earlier regarding fraudulently soliciting elderly people to provide home repairs.
Upon arrival, police said officers Eric Wethered and Harrison Pollock, the same investigating officers from the earlier investigation, found Curylo working in a driveway on Geary Avenue. The Department of Consumer Protection was contacted and officers were told that Curylo’s license to solicit home improvement work had been revoked and he is not allowed to conduct business on his own, said police.
Police said Curylo was charged with : Offering Home Improvement without a License, No Notice of Cancellation, Failure to Provide Notice of Cancellation of Rights, Failure to Provide Oral Cancellation of Rights, and Larceny 2nd
Curylo was released after posting a $5,000 cash/surety bond and given a court date in Bristol Superior Court of July 21.
